Outside-air controls

Before you agree

What should the plan include?

Know what happens next

Before and after the work

  1. Describe the conditions

Note timing, affected rooms and any ventilation equipment you already use.

  2. Review the controls

Ask how outdoor air quality and humidity affect appropriate operation for your system.

  3. Keep care details available

Keep correct replacement-filter information and follow the equipment’s operating guidance. Review any separately priced supplies, cleaning or further work before approval.

Before you decide

Questions before deciding

Review the decision and the service involved before requesting a follow-up.

What should the outdoor-air assessment review?

Intentional fresh-air inlets, leakage paths, filtration, controls and the operating pattern you notice. Increasing outdoor air is not the answer to every outdoor-air concern. The plan should explain when and how the proposed system operates; this page does not report current local air conditions.

Should I always bring in more outside air?

Outside-air quality and humidity matter. Review your ventilation arrangement and controls rather than applying one setting to every condition.

Does a particle filter remove gases too?

Ordinary particle filtration is not designed to address every gas or odor. Those concerns need source-specific investigation.

What should I do during outdoor smoke?

Follow current local public-health guidance and the appropriate operating guidance for your equipment. This page does not report current conditions.
