RJ Sam’s works on the water heaters already in your home, across brands. We assess the equipment and explain compatible repair, care or replacement options.

Tell us what’s happening

What is your water heater doing?

Describe what you’ve noticed as best you can. If you know when it started or which rooms are affected, that helps. We’ll investigate the cause; you do not need to diagnose it.

Changing temperatures or shutdowns
Mention whether one fixture or the whole house is affected.
Water near the heater
Connections and the storage tank can require different work.
Noise or discolored hot water

What happens next

Find the cause. Review the repair. Check the result.

  1. Investigate the concern

We investigate heating/controls and the actual source of any leak. A connection fault may be repairable; a leak through the storage tank can call for replacement. The finding determines the proposed next step.

  2. Explain the finding and proposed work

We discuss the repair, its price and whether further investigation, a specific part or a return visit is needed.

  3. Approve the work, then check operation

You decide whether to proceed. After the approved repair, we check operation and explain what was done. A needed part or return visit is discussed before it is arranged.

Review the heater and supporting work together

Water-heater diagnosis, maintenance and replacement have their own scope and price. Confirm visit/assessment terms before arranging service; the HVAC diagnostic and free-estimate proposals do not automatically apply.

Review the finding, equipment, connections, removal/permit responsibilities and actual manufacturer/workmanship terms before approving the work.

What affects the repair price? Heating and control faults, leaks, connections and tank condition can require different work. The investigation should establish whether the fault is repairable and what remains in service.

When there are options

Repair or replacement?

When repair may make sense

The identified fault can be addressed and the remaining equipment can serve your needs. Review the repair price and what the work will resolve.

When to compare replacement

Water near the heater does not establish where the leak starts. A connection may be repairable; a leak through the storage tank generally calls for replacement. We explain the finding and supporting work before you decide.

Questions before your visit

Review the common questions and use the symptom checker for guidance before requesting a visit. A technician will need to diagnose the cause.

Does water beside the heater mean the tank has failed?

Not necessarily: a connection, valve or other source can differ from a leak through the storage tank. The visit should establish the source and what can remain in service. Confirm the water-heater diagnostic charge and coverage separately; the HVAC offer does not automatically apply.

What should I prepare before the visit?

Describe what you’ve noticed as best you can, such as a cold shower, a leak or a new noise. If you know whether other taps are affected, mention that too. Model and serial numbers are optional; we’ll identify the heater. Leave covers closed and stay clear of wet electrical equipment.

Can the repair be completed during the visit?

That depends on the finding, work and parts needed. We explain any specific part, further investigation or return visit with the proposed work before you approve it.

Can you quote a repair from the symptoms?

The description helps us prepare but does not establish the fault. We investigate and explain the proposed repair price before approval.

Does a water-heater fault always mean replacement?

No. The fault, tank or heat-exchanger condition, parts availability and repair scope guide the decision. Compare what the repair will resolve with a replacement assessment that includes demand, connections, access and installation work.
