Comfort for rooms that need their own heating and cooling.

RJ Sam’s works on the ductless mini-splits already in your home, across brands. We assess the equipment and explain compatible repair, care or replacement options.

Single-zone mini-splits

One outdoor unit connects to an indoor unit serving a defined area. This can suit a room or addition with different heating and cooling needs from the rest of the house.

Air has to reach the occupied space. One unit does not automatically condition several closed bedrooms.

Multi-zone mini-splits

Several indoor units connect to a shared outdoor unit. Compare the rooms’ different needs, winter heating output and installation cost with separate single-zone systems.

The home’s layout determines the number of units and where they should go.

Before you decide

Ductless planning questions

Review the common questions and use the project scope planner to prepare questions about the equipment and work involved. Your home will need an assessment before a quote is prepared.

What should the design visit settle before I choose ductless equipment?

Which rooms are served by each unit, the sizing basis and what happens when doors are closed. It should also review outdoor clearances, sound, piping and drain routes, electrical supply and service access. The proposal should identify the exact matched equipment and control arrangement.

What should I compare before choosing ductless mini-splits?

Identify the rooms and hours when comfort matters most. Compare a dedicated room system with changes to existing distribution before choosing the number of zones.

Can a mini-split solve a hot upstairs?

It may be an option, but start with the affected rooms and the cause. Airflow changes or other work may also be worth comparing.

Does ductless mean no maintenance?

No. Indoor filters, coils and drains need appropriate attention. Follow the equipment guidance and mention changes in operation.
