Add heating and cooling where your home needs it.

RJ Sam’s works on the ductless mini-splits already in your home, across brands. We assess the equipment and explain compatible repair, care or replacement options.

Start with your home

What does the new installation need?

Plan the new heating or cooling arrangement, including any distribution, power, fuel, drainage or access that does not already exist. Review the home before choosing equipment.

Explore equipment options

If an existing system has stopped working, a repair assessment can help establish the options.

Compare the repair option
Rooms and doors
Identify the spaces and times when comfort matters. Closed rooms affect coverage.
Single-zone or multi-zone
Compare one defined space with several indoor units sharing outdoor equipment.
Location and compatibility
Review appearance, air distribution and care access. Replacement units must suit the retained equipment and controls.

Before you agree

What should the proposal include?

Compare the full installed work, what stays, what changes and what is excluded. Review the proposed price and actual equipment and labor terms before approving the project.

Written-scope guide

Free written HVAC installation/replacement estimate

Review a written proposal based on the home’s heating/cooling needs, existing equipment and supporting installation work.

Compare the sizing basis, retained components, price, exclusions and startup/handover. Confirm removal, permit and coverage responsibilities for the actual project.

Indoor and outdoor locations
Include placement, outdoor clearance, sound and access for service.
Piping and drainage
Explain refrigerant routes, condensate paths and wall penetrations.
Electrical and retained parts
Assess supply, wiring and any connections suitable to remain.
Startup and controls
Include operation checks, control setup and routine-care handover.

What affects mini-split installation cost?

A ductless installation price depends on the number and type of indoor units, equipment capacity, piping distance, wall access, drainage and electrical supply. Compare the complete system and the rooms it will serve. A price per indoor head alone leaves out shared outdoor equipment and supporting work.

  • Compare one defined room with multiple zones; confirm the outdoor-unit and indoor-unit combination.
  • Identify line-set routes, wall penetrations, condensate drainage and electrical work in the total.
  • For replacement, confirm compatibility with anything retained; include removal, startup and control setup.

Know what to expect

From planning to using your new system

  1. Confirm the plan

Review the selected equipment, included work, price, timing and access before arranging the project.

  2. Prepare for the work

Discuss equipment locations, removal routes and what you need to prepare. The work follows the agreed scope.

  3. Check operation and explain care

Check the installed system; explain zone controls, operating settings and filter care.

Before you decide

Planning questions

Review the common questions and use the project scope planner to prepare questions about the equipment and work involved. Your home will need an assessment before a quote is prepared.

What should a room-by-room ductless plan show?

Which rooms each indoor unit is intended to serve, the load basis, how closed doors affect coverage, and the proposed piping, power and condensate routes. Wall-mounted, cassette and concealed units have different access and installation needs; confirm which configurations are actually available for your project.

Can one unit serve several closed rooms?

Room layout and doors affect coverage. Review the actual spaces instead of assuming a hallway unit will condition every bedroom.

Can I choose the indoor-unit location?

Discuss appearance and location during planning. The position also needs to support air distribution and access for care.

How long will the work take?

Timing depends on the agreed scope, equipment, access and supporting work. Confirm the schedule, expected heating, cooling or hot-water interruption and preparation for your project before work is arranged.
