Look at how conditioned air reaches your rooms.

RJ Sam’s works on the airflow for heating and cooling systems already in your home, across brands. We assess the equipment and explain compatible repair, care or replacement options.

Check how each room feels

Which rooms?

Identify the rooms or floors that feel different. Note whether the concern happens in heating, cooling or both.

When does it happen?

Morning, afternoon sun, overnight or only during extreme weather can be useful context.

Do doors make a difference?

A change when a bedroom door closes can help focus the discussion of return-air paths.

What your home needs

Ductwork inspection and airflow investigation

Supply vents, return paths, filters and accessible ducts are considered with the system’s operation. Relevant airflow and pressure measurements help locate restrictions or air loss.

Accessible restrictions and filter fit
Check for issues that may be limiting air movement before proposing extensive changes.
Duct leakage, sizing and balancing
The findings may support sealing, sizing changes or balancing adjustments. The work depends on the home and access.
Return-air paths
Rooms need a suitable route for air to return. A new outdoor unit does not correct an inadequate return path by itself.
Difficult additions or converted rooms
Where the existing ducts cannot reasonably serve a space, compare dedicated ductless equipment with distribution changes.

Before you decide

Airflow assessment questions

Review the common questions and use the symptom checker for guidance before requesting a visit. A technician will need to diagnose the cause.

How should an airflow improvement be evaluated?

Start with which rooms are affected and when, then review supply/return paths, filters, distribution and relevant measurements. Ask what repair, sealing or balancing is actually proposed and how it will be checked afterward. Duct cleaning and branded sealing systems are separate capabilities, not assumed services.

What should I compare before choosing ductwork & airflow?

Record which rooms feel different and whether doors, additions or renovations changed the airflow path. Replacing the equipment alone may leave a distribution problem unresolved.

Should I close vents in unused rooms?

Closing several supply vents can increase resistance and affect operation. Explain what you want to achieve so an appropriate approach can be assessed.

Is airflow work the same as duct cleaning?

No. Airflow work investigates how air moves through the system. Cleaning is a separate question and should follow inspection of the condition that concerns you.

Will a larger HVAC system fix weak airflow?

Not necessarily. Equipment capacity does not remove a duct restriction or establish a return path. Assess distribution before selecting replacement equipment.

How is a ductwork visit arranged?

Request a follow-up about the airflow concern. We’ll discuss the appropriate assessment and explain any proposed work before you decide.
