Illustrative cooling-repair scenario

AC running with a stopped outdoor fan

Air comes from the vents while the house keeps warming up. The outdoor fan is stationary. This example explains the questions behind a repair; it is not a completed customer job.

Test the cause of the stopped outdoor fan

A stationary fan alone does not prove motor failure. Power, control signals, the motor and related components need testing. The rest of the outdoor unit also needs an appropriate operating check.

Explain the findings and proposed AC repair

The explanation should connect test findings to the repair. If a motor is needed, the proposal should identify the compatible part, related work, price and parts timing.

Check fan and cooling operation after approved work

The technician checks fan and system operation under suitable conditions to confirm that the repair addresses the diagnosed fault and restores cooling function.

What to do before an AC repair visit

Avoid repeated breaker resets and leave the outdoor cabinet closed. Tell us what the indoor and outdoor equipment are doing.

Before you decide

What this educational example can explain

What decision does the fan-motor scenario illustrate?

Observe the operating symptom, test the fan circuit and relevant conditions, explain what the measured evidence supports, then quote the repair and check operation. The scenario supplies no actual customer readings; a similar sound or stopped fan alone does not establish that the motor is the failed part.
